Day 4 - Clean Up Your Instagram Profile

STEP 1 - Open Your Instagram Profile

  1. Open the Instagram app

  2. Go to your profile (bottom right icon)

  3. Switch to your business or professional profile if needed

    • (If you’re not on a business profile, we’ll convert you in Step 5)

STEP 2 - Fix Your Profile Photo

Your profile photo appears everywhere — comments, messages, search results — so it needs to be clean and recognizable even at tiny sizes.

✔ Good Profile Photo Options:

  • Your logo (clean and symmetrical)

  • A professional headshot (if you are the brand)

  • A clean team photo cropped tight

✘ Avoid:

  • Dark selfies

  • Photos with cluttered backgrounds

  • Random icons

  • A photo of your truck from 20 feet away

  • Stock images

How to update:

  1. Tap your profile photo

  2. Select Edit ProfileChange Photo

  3. Upload your new image

  4. Save

STEP 3 - Rewrite Your Bio (Using a Proven Trust Formula)

Your bio should answer three things instantly:

  1. Who do you help?

  2. What do you do?

  3. How do customers get in touch?

Here’s the simple formula:

“We help (city) with (service). Honest pricing. Fast response. DM for quote.”

Industry Bio Examples

Plumber:
“Helping Brandon with plumbing repairs, installs & emergencies. Honest pricing. Fast response. DM for quote.”

Landscaper:
“Making Brandon yards clean & beautiful. Weekly mowing + full landscaping. Message for free quote.”

Cleaner:
“Reliable home & office cleaning in Brandon. Weekly, bi-weekly, deep cleans. DM to book.”

Hair salon:
“Cuts, colours & styles for Brandon clients. Friendly, professional, confidence-boosting hair. Book via link.”

Mechanic:
“Trusted auto repairs + diagnostics in Brandon. Honest pricing. Message for appointment.”

STEP 4 - Add Your Contact Button + Website Link

You want customers to instantly know how to reach you.

Your link should go to ONE of the following:

  • Your quote form

  • Your website

  • Your booking page

  • Your Facebook page (if no website)

  • Your Google review link (in special cases)

How to update your contact options:

  1. Tap Edit Profile

  2. Tap Contact Options

  3. Add or edit:

    • Phone

    • Email

    • Address (if applicable)

  4. Add your website or quote form link

  5. Save

STEP 5 - Make Sure You’re Using a Business/Professional Account

If your account isn’t already set to Business:

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Tap Account

  3. Tap Switch to Professional Account

  4. Choose Business

  5. Select your category (same as Google categories)

  6. Connect your Facebook Business Page

This unlocks:

✔ Contact buttons
✔ Insights
✔ Promotions
✔ Category labels
✔ Messaging tools

STEP 6 - Hide Anything That Looks Outdated

(This step is optional but powerful.)

If your last 10 posts include:

  • Very old work

  • Personal photos not relevant to your business

  • Low-quality images

  • Confusing content

You can Archive them (not delete).

Archiving cleans your profile instantly.

How to Archive:

  1. Open a post

  2. Tap the three dots (…)

  3. Select Archive

Your profile now looks clean and current.

Quick Trust Checklist

Your Instagram profile should now:

✔ Have a clean, professional profile photo
✔ Have a clear bio explaining who you help + what you do
✔ Include a link to your quote form or website
✔ Have contact buttons enabled
✔ Look current, active, and trustworthy

A stranger should be able to answer:

“What does this business do, and how do I contact them?”

…in 3 seconds or less.

If yes — you nailed Day 4.

Day 4 Complete!

Your Instagram is now a trust page, not a random collection of posts.

Customers who check it will instantly feel more confident reaching out.

You’ve built one more piece of your trust foundation.
